Model theory seminar - Greg Cousins, "Large Fields, and analogues of Largeness in some fields with extra structure"
Description
Title: "Large Fields, and analogues of Largeness in some fields with extra structure"
Abstract: In this talk, we will give a brief introduction to the theory of large fields, which were introduced by Pop as a class of fields over which strong inverse-galois theoretic theorems hold. We will discuss some results concerning the model theory of pure fields which are both large and have some extra model theoretic properties. Finally, we will discuss versions of largeness for fields with extra structure, in particular when our fields are equipped with a derivative.
