Title: Semilinear elliptic equations with combined nonlinearities
Abstract: We investigate the solvability of a nonhomogeneous semilinear elliptic equation, where the nonlinear part has two terms: one that is asymptotically linear and another that is superlinear. The result will be proved as an application of the saddle point theorem. Furthermore, in the homogeneous scenario where the equation possesses a trivial solution, if the superlinear term is subcritical, we establish the existence of a pair of nontrivial solutions. The emergence of the second solution is a consequence of a linking theorem. To distinguish between the solutions, we employ critical groups.
