Title: Some progress on Fulton’s local-global question
Abstract: Fulton asked if a variety which locally looks like a quotient of a smooth variety by finite group is globally a quotient of a smooth variety by a finite group. In this talk we will discuss recent progress on this question in the case of surfaces with finite abelian quotient singularities, which allows one to reinterpret Fulton’s question in terms of intersection theory, or Brauer groups, or derived categories of singularities.
