Title:Paving Regular Nilpotent Hessenberg Schubert Cells by Affines: A Computational Approach.
Abstract: Tymoczko showed in 2007 that regular nilpotent Hessenberg varieties are paved by affines using a Lie-theoretic argument. In this talk, we will demonstrate a computational approach that recovers Tymoczko’s result for intersections of regular nilpotent Hessenberg varieties with open Schubert cells. This computational approach leverages the nice Gröbner geometry of these varieties. In particular, we recycle the recent work of Da Silva and Harada by way of a restriction map from their setting to ours that preserves Gröbner bases and other nice properties. This talk is based on a project with Da Silva, Harada, and Rajchgot.
