Announcements
- Final Exam: The time
and place are now finalized.
The Final Exam will be written in BSB-242 (in the Computer Lab) on 1998-12-07
(Monday) from 9:00 to
13:00. I will invigilate
and I will have an assistant to fetch your printouts for
you.
- Special Exam Office Hours:
Saturday 5 December, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
- Printing at the Final
Exam: You will
each be given a special computer lab userid to use while writing
the exam. The Department of Mathematics and Statistics will pay
for all printing on these accounts.
- "Running
Splus at McMaster": Now explains how to print PostScript
files with GhostScript in the BSB Windows lab, how to get a free
copy of GhostScript for your own PC, how to use the vi
editor, and how to set up and manage your work in "S chapters".
- Splus Upgrade: Splus on
stats has been upgraded from Version 5.0 Release 1 to
Version 5.0 Release 2. You might not notice any difference,
however, some operations are now 10 or 20 times faster than they
were with Release 1.
- Remove your corrected copy of
stars()!!! The bug in
stars() in Splus Version 5.0 Release 1 has been fixed in
Release 2 so you no longer need to use your corrected copy. In
fact, the corrected stars() that you used in Assignment #1
probably won't work at all now so you should go into the S chapter
it is stored in and remove it with the command rm(stars).
