The long tradition of unfolding axioms for various kinds of geometry - Euclid, Descartes, non-Euclidean geometries, Tarski - had a highly influential revival in the development of the branch of model theory now known as geometric stability theory, by Zilber, Cherlin, Hrushovski, Pillay and others over the past 25 years. Stunning connections to arithmetic geometry, transcendental number theory, and even quantum mechanics have been found.
The object of the conference is to bring together the key figures as well as young researchers in this booming branch of model theory, to present and discuss the latest developments in the field.
There will be some support for UK-based graduate students (see registration below).
Every participant who is not an invited speaker or not from Oxford is kindly asked to register. Registration Fee: £45 for non students, £30 for students.
Accommodation is available at Lady Margaret Hall (a single room b&b, en suite for £53 per night, or standard with shared facilities for £43 per night)
Lunches at Lady Margaret Hall can be booked either for 3 days (March 26-28, the conference proper) or for 4 days (25-28) at £20 per meal

There will be a poster session on the evening of March 25 with posters displayed throughout the conference. Everybody, though in particular young researchers (including graduate students), are encouraged to bring their posters along.
There is some (limited) financial support available for UK-based graduate students. Please apply by writing to the organizers by February 22, indicating expected travel costs and whether your participation would be impossible without support.
