• I will have office hours on Tues., Apr 21 and Wed., Apr. 22 from 11 - 12:30.  You can also send me email with questions or to set up an appointment.
  
• The final exam is on Apr. 23 at 2 pm in HH 305.  It is 3 hours long.  The final exam will cover all the material covered in the course.  It will be weighted 25% for material covered on the first test, 25% for material on the second test and 50% for material covered since the second test.  Here are some practice problems for the material since the last test: D&F, Chap. 9, #15, 16, 20, 21; Judson, Chap. 21, #6 - 8, 22.1, #1-8, 15, 16, 22, 23

• Here are some practice problems for the test: Judson, Chap. 20, #11, 14, Chap. 21, 1,  2,  4,  10, 12,  13,  15, 22, D&F, section 9.6, #3, 7, 17, pg. 910, 1 - 4 (for these questions you will have to read the D&F appendix). Regarding the Hilbert Basis Theorem, look at problems 1 and 2 a), b) of Chapter 9 in D&F - note that they write LT(f) for what I have been writing lt(f) and \delta(f) is the total degree of the leading term.
  
• The second test is Tuesday, Mar. 17 in-class.  It will cover all the material since the last test.  Specifically, it will cover the lecture notes and Chapter 20, Chapter 21, section 1 from Judson (11.1, 13.1-2 from Dummit and Foote) together with the material on cardinality, Zorn's Lemma (D&F appendix pg. 907) and the Hilbert Basis Theorem (D&F 9.6).
  
• The final exam will be Thursday, Apr. 23 at 2 pm in HH 305.
