Plasma glucose levels in South Pacific populations

Source:

Raper, L.R. et al. (1983). Plasma glucose distributions in two Pacific populations: the bimodality phenomenon. Tohoku J. exp. Med. 141 , Suppl., 199-206.

These data were read from their Figure 2d, which gives log two-hour plasma glucose (mg/100 ml) in a sample of 89 Western Samoa females, aged 45-54.

Remarks:

Considering the standard errors of the estimates, this analysis is entirely consistent with that given in the original paper. This fit assumes a constant coefficient of variation. An attempt to find an unconstrained fit failed to converge.
