Montreal's chinatown is relatively small but is still interesting. You can
start to the west in front of the Palais des Congres (congress hall, Place
d'Armes metro station), there's a little pedestrian street with shops and
restaurants (de la Gauchetiere street), you can recognize it by it's chinese
style arches. The other main street is St-Laurent boulevard (called the main).
- Sun Tan Hong Cafe (chinese) large choice, large servings, inexpensive
(closes at 6pm) on St-Laurent
- Tong Por (chinese, dim sum) 43 de la Gauchetiere east
- Hunan (chinese) on St-Laurent near Rene-Levesque blvd
- Cristal de Saigon (vietnamese), excellent, 1068 St-Laurent
- Tai Ping (chinese, dim sum) 1115 Clark.
- St-Laurent (then walk southward on St-Laurent past Rene-Levesque blvd.)
- Place d'Armes
- St-Dominique street to the east
- Jeanne-Mance to the west
- Rene Levesque blvd. to the north
- Ville-Marie autoroute to the south
