Title: Ground state in the energy supercritical Gross-Pitaevskii equation with a harmonic potential

Abstract: I will discuss recent results on existence of ground states of Gross-Pitaevskii equation with harmonic potential in the case of cubic focusing nonlinearity and dimension greater or equal than five. New results on this problem include the theorems that rigorously justify the behavior of the solution curve, where the eigenvalue parameter is plotted versus the supremum. The behavior of this curve is significantly different in the case of the dimension less or equal than twelve, and greater than thirteen. These results are a joint work with Professor Dmitry Pelinovsky, and our collaborators from the Jagiellonian University: Professor Piotr Bizon and Filip Ficek.
