Algebra And Algebraic Geometry Seminar - Angelica Babei - Solomon Zeta functions of table algebras

Speaker: Angelica Babei (McMaster)

Title: Solomon Zeta functions of table algebras

Abstract: In this talk, we investigate the analogue of Solomon's Zeta function for integral group rings to that of the integral adjacency algebra of an association scheme, and more generally, integral table algebras. As Solomon's elementary method for computing this Zeta function runs into computational difficulties for ranks 3 or more, a more efficient method is desirable. We give several examples to illustrate how the method proposed by Bushnell-Reiner for zeta functions of orders, and which itself arises from Tate's thesis, can be successfully applied to compute zeta functions for these algebras.
