Title: Convergent power series and O-minimality
Abstract: Since Tarski established in the 1930s that the ordered real field is o-minimal, many expansions of the real field have been shown to have the same tameness property. While the methodologies used to prove o-minimality have branched significantly as these structures diverge in complexity, they often share a core set of principles. In this talk, I will explain this principle through the example of the real field expanded by all restricted analytic functions. I will outline the geometric mechanism to normalize analytic functions and how the projection of definable sets can control the complements.
