Title: An Introduction to Khovanov Homology: Old Results and the New Ones
Abstract: Khovanov Homology, introduced by Khovanov in the late 90s is a bi-graded homological invariant for the classical knots. It is a categorification of the Jones polynomial and surprisingly is strictly stronger than Jones polynomial. In this talk I will try to introduce Khovanov Homology in a quite accessible language and talk about some recent results about it. Ultimately if time permits, I will talk about the generalization of Khovanov Homology to virtual knots. All the works and papers will be cited accordingly to the original authors.
