General Announcements
- The final exam will be Thursday, Dec. 13 at 4 pm; check Mosaic for where you write.
- The exam will be 2 and a half hours long.
- The topics covered will be all those tested so far this term.
Specifically sections 2.1 - 2.4, 2.7, 3.1 - 3.6, 6.1 - 6.4 (except the
attacks on RSA not covered in lecture) and 3.11, 7. 1, 7.2 except
7.2.4, 7.4 and 7.5 and 16.1, 16.2 and 16.5 together with topics covered
in lecture. This does not include factoring with elliptic curves
and digital cash.
- You are allowed to have the standard McMaster calculator, Casio
fx-991 (no communication capability). No other aids are
allowed. Please bring your ID with you.
- The best gauge of the level of the test is to look at the lecture notes, homework and practice problems.
- I will have office hours on Monday, Dec. 10 at 1 pm and Dec. 12 at 11 am.
- There will be a review session on Wednesday, Dec.. 12 at 1:30 in HH 109. Please send questions ahead of time.

10, 11, 17, 20, 24, 26; Chapter 6, #7, 14, 16, 17, 22, 25; Chapter 7,

- The topics covered will be sections 7. 1, 7.2 except 7.2.4, 7.4
(not decision Diffie-Hellman) and 7.5 and sections 16.1, 16.2 and 16.5.

- The topics covered will be those found in the lecture notes as
well as sections 6.1 - 6.4 and 3.11; in section 6.2, we did not cover
in class all the attacks on RSA mentioned. It is good to read
through this material but use the problems I suggest for practice as a
guide for the test.
